8 Days Rwanda Gorillas & Other Primates Safaris

After your breakfast, embark on Kigali city tour; go for a visit to the Genocide memorial center, Inema arts, local market in Kimironko, see daily activities of the locals with smiles on faces, drive to Nyungwe National Park, the home of Chimpanzee and Canopy Walk adventures plus other several primates’ species. En route lunch in Huye. The journey South West passes through the beautiful terraced hillsides that characterized much of Rwanda’s landscape. Proceed with the Canopy walk adventure. Later drive to the hotel, check in and enjoy property amenities. In the late evening relax at the lodge with views till dinner.

On this day you will enjoy an early breakfast at your lodge before embarking on a thrilling hike in search of chimpanzee communities. The Rwandan chimpanzee population is thought to consist of approx. 400-500 individuals, confined to the Nyungwe National Park, including a small community in the Cyamudongo Forest. Prepare to hear these excitable primates before you see them, as their pant-hoots travel through the deep forest. During your hike you may also spot migratory birdlife including the Ross’ turaco, grey-cheeked hornbill, red-breasted sparrow hawk and regal sunbird. Return to the lodge for lunch, later proceed for the tea plantation experience with more engagements with local people and awesome photography. After this adventure, return to the hotel, refresh and chill. Later have your dinner.

On this day you will enjoy an early breakfast at your lodge before embarking on a thrilling hike in search of Colobus Monkeys communities. During your hike you may also spot migratory birdlife including the Ross’ turaco, grey-cheeked hornbill, red-breasted sparrow hawk and regal sunbird, after these experiences, you will be transferred to Lake Kivu side for a more relaxed stay in Rwanda. Afternoon lunch, check out and transfer to Lake Kivu, upon arrival, relax and enjoy hotel amenities. Night fishing experiences, Join the singing traditional Fishermen of Lake Kivu at night on the lake as they fish for sambaza, the famous small fish of Lake Kivu. This tour is as real as it gets with amazing scenery.

After your breakfast you will go for a boat cruise, enjoy beautiful water birds, magnificent views of the country side, lunch and check out. Drive on with stunning scenery and landscapes and transfer to Musanze / Volcanoes National Park home of Gorillas and golden monkeys, hikes etc. Arrival, check in with relaxation, order for your meals. Evening at leisure.

Have your breakfast early. On this special day you will have the rare opportunity to observe the famous Rwandan mountain gorillas. Trekking the gorillas through the forested slopes of the Virunga is a magical experience. You will get to the gorillas, spend an hour with them, and be back at the base in time for lunch at the lodge. Have your full relaxation the rest of the day as you enjoy property amenities.

After breakfast you will proceed to the park headquarters to meet your guides for Golden Monkeys trekking, enjoy them play plus doing their daily activities, then after completing your experiences. Return to your hotel for lunch and later go for an afternoon Cultural experience at the Gorilla Guardians former Iby’iwacu cultural village, learn about Rwanda’s history and their ways of life. Return to the lodge, refresh, then dinner and overnight at the Lodge.
